Real Housewives of New York City: Luann de Lesseps had her first drink off probation

The Real Housewives of New York City watched in mild horror as Luann de Lesseps took her “first” drink after completing probation…but was it her first?

The Real Housewives of New York City gathered together for the most boring comedy show that has ever graced the presence of our televisions.  Luann de Lesseps even brought Jacques Azoulay out for the show to do comedy.  During their catch-up lunch, they discussed Luann’s new show, Marry, F**K, Kill.  In classic Lu fashion, she made him listen to Feelin’ Jovani while at the table.  He didn’t even know what Jovani was.  “Who is Jovani?” He asked over a burger.  Poor Jacques.

Meanwhile, Sonja Morgan is on a liquid fast and only drinking, while Luann casually had her “first” drink on camera.  She made a joke about her mimosa debacle that almost sent her back to jail for violating probation, which didn’t go over very well.

Jacques did a wonderful job on stage and we are sure his jokes were funny, but no one could understand a word he said.  I had to watch with subtitles.  If this was a practice run for his own stand up routine…he is well on the way to greatness!

Stand-up aside, Jacques was always a good match for Luann.  It is obvious they care about one another because no one would have participated in this event just for fun.  But on the bright side, Luann did not sleep with the pirate and made a joke out of it.  “You like it?”  “No,” Jacques said.

The momentous occasion of Luann’s first drink on camera did not feel authentic.  The way the ladies have always acted about her issues with drinking felt like she never really stopped, she was simply hiding it.  It didn’t appear that any of the women believed she hadn’t had a drink since completing her probationary period.  Also, who chooses vodka soda as their first drink?  Yuck!

While Ramona Singer and Dorinda Medley seemed to celebrate the occasion, Elyse Slaine had a different opinion.  Elyse seemed genuinely concerned that Luann was drinking again.  Dorinda told Elyse to “mind her own garden” and that was the end of Elyse voicing her feelings.

But at the end of the night, things went off between Dorinda and Tinsley Mortimer again.  Tinsley is intimidated by Dorinda according to Dorinda and only Dorinda…Why is she so obsessed with her?  To be continued…
