RHOA: The disrespect and drama of those closest to Kandi Burruss
By Amanda Cline
The drama between Kandi Burruss, her mother, and her husband was the main event for the baby shower on The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker celebrated their baby shower on the most recent episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta with a baby shower fit for a star. The theme of the event was obviously “A Star is Born” and the drama surrounding it was also fit for a star. Todd and Mama Joyce have been fighting since the day he entered into Kandi’s life.
Mama Joyce told a story about how she didn’t have a lunchbox and had money stolen from her when she was a young child…which was obviously related to Todd being a mooch. She is trying to get Kandi to put her money into a trust to protect it. While trust is a good idea overall to protect your money in the case of many events, Joyce just wants to limit Todd’s access to it.
Just before the event, Kandi, Joyce and, Todd were all at Old Lady Gang and Todd didn’t say hello to his wife or mother-in-law. Mama Joyce decided she was not going to attend the baby shower because of Todd’s disrespectful behavior.
“Todd is being a butthole,” Kandi said in her interview. But really, so is Mama Joyce. If I were Todd, I would probably not bother saying hello to her, either. By the time they got to the event, both sides were heated but Kandi only had her mom’s back. While Mama Joyce probably feels she deserves more respect from Todd, Todd probably feels the same way. What grandma would miss their own future grandchild’s baby shower just to prove a point? Only Mama Joyce.
But then Kenya and Nene arrived
Nene Leakes had some shade to throw at Kenya Moore before she even saw her. While on the phone with Wendy Williams, Nene was joking that Kenya and Marc Daly had some sort of business agreement to have a baby and there was no love involved. Nene was in attendance in another sequined rose gold sweatsuit while everyone else was in sequined dresses.
The drama really hit the fan when Nene and Kenya came face to face at the party. They discussed the spitting issue in Greece in an aggressive manner while Kandi was on stage trying to speak. Eventually, they called security to separate the two and Todd got on stage to apologize to Kandi. Kandi sure knows how to make an announcement – and how to end a season!
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is on every Sunday at 8 PM!
