The cast of RHONJ is notoriously family-oriented.  Here are some of our favorite moments with Teresa Giudice’s father, Giacinto “Nonno” Gorga.

Teresa Giudice’s father,  lovingly known as Nonno, is a big part of their family unit and is always present for filming events at the house.  Back in January, Teresa confirmed to Bravo’s Daily Dish that Nonno was back in the hospital for unknown reasons.  In December, he went to the hospital due to pneumonia.  But now Teresa is again asking for prayers for our beloved Nonno.  So here is a list of some of our favorite RHONJ moments where Nonno brought us joy.

During season ten, Teresa and the girls were up early to go visit their dad, Joe Giudice, in the ICE detention center.  While thee girls got ready, Nonno was busy boiling a whole octopus in the kitchen at 6 AM.  He simply plopped the big, slimy, grey thing into the pot and continued on with his morning.  We never found out why.

Prior to that, Nonna woke up early and mentioned he wasn’t feeling well so he wandered to the fridge.  One would assume he’s getting some Pepto Bismol, some water, even some orange juice for the early hour, but instead, Nonno grabbed the hot sauce.

He wasn’t adding it to his eggs, either.  He just took a swig right out of the bottle and put it back!  Melissa Gorga told Bravo’s After Show, “He believes it cures all sickness and illness when he does this,” according to Us Weekly.  Classic Nonno.

When Joe would call the house complaining that he was stuck in the ICE detention center, Nonno got frustrated with his attitude.  Nono told Teresa, “I slap your husband.  He never did nothing right. He did everything wrong.  Six times I told him, go make a citizen.”

Update: Teresa confirmed earlier today that Nonna passed away peacefully on April 2.  Rest in peace, Nonno.

The Real Housewives of New Jersey will be back later this year.
