RHONY: Jules Wainstein allegedly punched her ex in the face
By Amanda Cline
The details of the weekend arrest of Jules Wainstein in Florida are coming out and they do not paint a pretty picture of the altercation.
As Page Six first reported, Jules Wainstein and her ex-husband, Michael Wainstein, were apparently together on Sunday, February 23, 2020, while in Boca Raton. Jules and Michael were doing their usual custody exchange for Rio and Jagger in a local parking lot. According to a source, Jules licked Michael’s window for some reason and then decided to take a baseball bat to the back window of his car.
The source went on to say that when Michael got out of the car, Jules punched him in the face. The two children were in Michael’s car. Jules was arrested and spent the night in jail. Both Michael and Jules were in court this Monday morning. The judge set her arraignment for March 16, 2020.
Michael’s attorney, Morghan Richardson, told Page Six, “The children were released to Michael’s custody yesterday and he is most concerned about protecting them.” He called Jules’ behavior reckless and said they were exploring their legal avenues. Michael requested a protective order against Jules which was granted. It is not clear yet if that is for Michael, or the children and Michael.
TMZ is reporting that Jules is unable to afford a lawyer and will be assigned a Public Defender. They also mentioned that Michael recorded the altercation on his phone which was shown to the police.
Jules is due back in court on Tuesday. Jules has not yet made a statement. Hopefully, the couple can stay apart for the time being while Jules cools off. It is unclear if Michael is living in Florida as well due to their custody agreement.
The Real Housewives of New York City will be back on April 2, 2020.
