RHONJ: Joe Gorga was caught lying about a house he flipped
By Amanda Cline
The story is that Joe Gorga posted some photos on Instagram pretending he fixed up a house and later flipped it, but the owner says that’s not true.
In a bizarre story out of New Jersey this week, The Real Housewives of New Jersey’s Joe Gorga posted a pair of photos to Instagram and pretended he purchased the home, fixed it up and flipped it for a profit. However, that was quickly debunked when the owner of the house said that wasn’t the case – and even pointed out the photos were not the same house.
Joe’s Instagram has been featuring some of his new home projects, but now people are questioning every photo. The photo in question has been deleted but did not appear to be the same house at all. The caption read, “Took me 6 months to turn this around. Ripped off the roof & added to the second floor. I think I might move in.”
It didn’t take long for the owner of the “after” house, Caley Svensson, to comment that the house he was pretending was the flipped home was actually new construction.
Good Morning America interviewed Caley and has photos of the now-deleted posts. They also noted in the video that the “before” photo still looks as it did in the photo and has never been renovated by Joe.
According to Caley, she asked Joe to take the photo down and he did not respond but eventually deleted the post. Joe claims that his social media manager posted the photos by mistake. But he also said that he was involved with an investment firm that was involved in the building of the home. Okay Joe, doubling down on your weird lie probably wasn’t the best move.
Anyway, Joe declined to comment to Good Morning America but is still busy posting poorly constructed inspirational quotes with photos of himself to his Instagram page. Never change, Mr. Gorga.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is on Bravo Wednesday nights at 8 PM!
