RHOC’s Vicki Gunvalson: I’m not a con woman, I was conned!
By Amanda Cline
Vicki Gunvalson, formerly of RHOC, commented on her recent dismissal of a case involving Coto Insurance, but she’s no stranger to lawsuits.
Vicki Gunvalson found her company Coto Insurance & Financial Services, which was featured on RHOC, a part of a lawsuit last year. Joan Lile was suing Coto for “fraud, breach of fiduciary duty, negligence, intentional infliction of emotional distress and breach of contract,” according to The Blast.
Joan and her husband were apparently interested in a long-term care policy for her as her husband was much older than her. Upon his passing in 2017, Joan was denied by the insurance company and she was suing Coto for damages. The lawsuit was dismissed with prejudice, which means the case cannot be re-filed.
Vicki seems very up in arms for someone who attempted to sue NBC Universal and her co-star, Kelly Dodd, for calling her a con-woman on television. She quickly dropped the lawsuit. Vicki was hoping to get the network to cut the scenes where Kelly called her names, but that didn’t happen. While the group was in Key West, Vicki was screaming through the streets “I’m not a con woman, I was conned!”
Vicki is often remembered for lying that her ex-boyfriend, Brooks Ayers, had cancer. According to Bravo’s The Daily Dish, she even tried to sue him for “breach of written agreement, breach of verbal agreement, fraud, misrepresentation” and other fun things. But the fact that Vicki thinks the dismissal of this case does not make her a con-woman is laughable.
Vicki insists that she had nothing to do with Brooks and his cancer scheme, but the general consensus with viewers is that she had plenty to do with it.
Now that she’s off the show, she seems to be working her opinions into the public eye with her new “link in bio” ventures. It should be interesting to see how this pans out for the OG of the OC.
The Real Housewives of Orange County will be back later this year.
