RHOC & RHOA: The Biggest BFF Breakups on The Real Housewives

Here’s a look back at some of our favorite best friends from season one of the RHOC and RHOA franchises who are no longer BFFs…or friends at all.

Every Housewife franchise starts out with a BFF duo that we love—but they aren’t all able to stand the tests of fame and backstabbing that Real Housewives inevitably introduces into the friendship. RHOC and RHOA have been around for a long time, and with that comes defunct friendships.

The Real Housewives of Orange County: Jeana Keough and Vicki Gunvalson

Out of the five ladies cast on season 1 of RHOC, Jeana Keough and Vicki Gunvalson were already friends. Although Kimberly lived in Coto de Caza, Jo De La Rosa had just moved into the neighborhood to live with fiancée, Slade Smiley. Laurie Peterson worked for Vicki, while Jeana and Vicki had known each other for years as neighbors, fellow businesswomen, and as friends who took family vacations together.

Unfortunately, as the show progressed, Vicki became closer to the younger, racier Tamra Judge. When Jeana failed to sell Vicki’s second home in Coto de Caza during the housing market downturn of 2008-2009, Vicki bad-mouthed her, and Jeana took offense. They stopped speaking to each other, and Jeana left the show.

Although the two are cordial now, they are certainly not doing morning boot camp or taking trips to Mexico to whoop it up together any longer.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta: Nene Leakes and Kim Zolciak-Biermann

Nene and Kim were the fun pair of friends to watch during Season 1 of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. The sassy blond with the big wigs and the smart-mouthed, quick-witted Nene were both larger-than-life personalities—perhaps each with too much ego to last for long as friends once they became Bravolebrities. The pair shopped and partied together, and even contemplated Kim’s first hit single song “Tardy for the Party” together.

But by the end of season 1, so much had happened, and the situation had gotten so bad that at the reunion, they were literally at each other’s throats. Who can forget Nene’s famous shot at Kim during the reunion? “Close your legs to married men, trash box!”

There have been a few attempts at reconciliation over the years, even after Kim left the show. The latest tension between these two former friends was sparked by SnapChats Kim’s daughter Brielle posted that claimed Nene had roaches in her home. I think it’s safe to say that these two are never ever getting back together…Like ever.
