After the two RHOP co-stars filed complaints against one another, the State’s Attorney’s Office will not move forward with the lawsuits.

The RHOP castmates were suing one another after a filming incident in October turned physical.  Monique Samuels and Candiace Dillard Bassett got into an altercation where hair was pulled and the police were called.  Monique always did promise to drag Candiace, so it seemed like Monique had made good on her threats.

The Montgomery County State’s Attorney’s Office decided that the cases for second-degree assault would not move forward.  Ramón V. Korionoff, Public Affairs Director for the county told People, “Charges have been dismissed by the Office of the State’s Attorney for Montgomery County, Maryland.”  People also said that the State’s Attorney’s Office had reviewed footage filmed for The Real Housewives of Potomac, interviewed both women, and did an investigation before deciding the case would not be pursued.  Monique posted on her twitter that the cases had been dismissed.

Monique’s attorney, A. Scott Bolden, told People that based on Candiace’s past behavior, the case against Monique was baseless.  The behavior was “consistent with her prior bad acts, offensive words and conduct, and her reputation for physical threats and verbal outbursts on the show.” He went on to say that after careful review, they decided not to move forward with the case against Candiace or Monique.  He closed with a shady remark that he was hopeful Candiace’s behavior would be more mature for their next interaction.

James L. Walker, Jr., the attorney for Candiace, said that he felt Candiace was the true victim here but was pleased with the outcome. “I am also hopeful that Ms. Samuels and her team will cease and desist with the continual, unprofessional character assassination.”  Truthfully, both ladies are guilty if they participated in a physical fight, but I’m glad the charges have been dropped.

Since Monique was not allowed on the cast trip, I wonder where she stands with next season.  If Monique wasn’t allowed, why was Candiace?  And how do we move on from here?  I’m just hoping we get to see the same footage the attorneys had to review before coming to this conclusion…

The Real Housewives of Potomac will be back later next year on Bravo.
