The Real Housewives of Orange County has been vocal about her demotion to “friend of” but apparently has wiggled her way back into someone’s good graces.
Radar is reporting that Vicki Gunvalson gave the network an ultimatum, and for some reason, they accepted. Now I know what you’re thinking, Radar Online as a source? I know, I know, but they were the first ones to report that Vicki was demoted from The Real Housewives of Orange County. This comes on the heels of the news that Vicki was suing both NBC universal and Kelly Dodd, and ultimately dropped the suit. Now the source is saying that because she dropped the lawsuit, she gets rewarded with an orange.
Vicki was accused of selling stories to Radar about her co-stars earlier in the season, so I suppose she could have sold this one to them too. But since Vicki and Steve Lodge got engaged, there is potential for a whole wedding storyline. If Bravo thinks that is what the fans want, they are sorely mistaken. Tamra Judge seems to be gunning to get Heather Dubrow back on the show, but she isn’t necessarily interesting either.
RHOC has had a hard time casting new wives and seems to enjoy bringing back old ones instead (see Lydia McLaughlin). In recent years, the additions have included Peggy Sulahian, Lizzie Rovsek, and then our current cast members: Gina Kirschenheiter, Emily Simpson, and Braunwyn Windham-Burke.
Based on all of that, there’s a good chance the network takes a chance and brings Vicki back full time. She filmed for the entire current season and was just cut out of scenes, but nothing in the filming aspect really changed. Now that she has Steve beside her to partake in some wedding planning and executing, is that the future of RHOC? Would you rather see Vicki get married, or go on a four-month tour of Heather’s McMansion? Dark.
The Real Housewives of Orange County is on Bravo at 9 PM every Tuesday.
