Bethenny Frankel discusses her next moves after her departure from The Real Housewives of New York, both with television and her personal life.
Bethenny Frankel was a co-host for Entertainment Tonight in the Bahama recently and told them all about her upcoming plans. The former Real Housewives of New York leading lady told Entertainment Tonight that she and Mark Burnett are in the early stages of paperwork for two television shows. We know that her abrupt leave from Bravo might have angered some people, but will the next shows have the power needed to sustain on television?
So, what’s next?
Bethenny says that one of the shows would feature herself and revolve around…her life. This wouldn’t be Bethenny’s first foray into non-housewives waters, either. She’s been on Shark Tank, Bethenny & Fredrik, Bethenny, and Bethenny Ever After. Her IMDB lists 79 credits as herself. Is she going to have some sort of Celebrity Shark Tank Apprentice Skinnygirl hybrid? Shudder.
What sort of shows are we talking about?
The other show would be produced by Bethenny, but she would not be in it. Bethenny says she’s found her match with Mark creatively and work-wise, while she’s met her match romantically with Paul Bernon. Weird time to plug your relationship, but I digress. I’m a little afraid of how these statements will tie in with a show. Bethenny is definitely great TV, but she can be overwhelming when the focus is solely on her. That’s why she works well on a show with a format like housewives – the other ladies balance her out.
Bethenny claims that her time on RHONY made people underestimate her, especially on Shark Tank. Someone on the show said that she was dealing with “serious” business people, and she responded, “I’ve been on the cover of a small magazine called Forbes.”
Whatever she lands on next, we know Bethenny has the confidence and means to do anything she sets her mind to – but will the people follow her? Only time will tell. See you soon, Bethenny.
The Real Housewives of New York will be back next year on Bravo.
