Vanderpump Rules: Season 8 premiere date and new cast additions – finally!

After much speculation, the trailer for Vanderpump Rules season 8 has arrived – and some fresh new faces (and fresh drama) are upon us!

In case you missed it, Bravo dropped the new trailer for Vanderpump Rules, and I am so happy to see some new additions to the cast.  If you remember, I’ve been piecing together the new additions based on Instagram posts and stories for months.  Also, Lisa Vanderpump is still front and center at the Sexy Unique Restaurant in case you’ve been missing her.

If we include the usual suspects from last season, there’s a total of 19 cast members included in the cast for season eight.  Beau Clark and Raquel Leviss are listed (and yes, James Kennedy is too!) along with Brett Caprioni, Charli Burnett, Danica Dow, Dayna Kathan and Max Boyens as new additions.

There seems to be some vintage Vanderpump Rules hookup drama with the new cast members, but not so much intermingling with the new cast.  Perhaps they are winding down the old cast storylines and ramping up some new, interesting ones?  Now that a lot of the original cast is old (Jax Taylor is literally 40 and still riding a cooler with wheels down the street) and settling down, they just…aren’t nearly as interesting.  Also, let’s face it – wedding storylines are a bore.

Typical storyline assumptions

Based on the trailer, it looks like Tom Sandoval and Ariana Madix are in for some relationship trouble, and when Billie Lee quit – she claimed it was about a storyline involving Tom cheating.  Did they just continue that storyline without her?  Eek.

Brittany Cartwright and Jax Taylor get married, Katie Maloney-Schwartz cries and whines, Kristen Doute probably does the same.  Lala Kent fights with 50 Cent, Schena Shay is just looking for love in all the wrong places, and Stassi Schroeder is planning her wedding.  Tom Sandoval is busy at TomTom.

I can’t wait to see how the two groups interact, and even if there isn’t much crossover, the new cast members will definitely shake things up at SUR.
