RHONJ Special Event: Joe Giudice and Teresa Giudice Unlocked

The feistiest franchise around, RHONJ, is taking the drama a step further before the next season with a one-on-one special with Andy Cohen.

The tenth season of RHONJ  premieres on November 6, but before that begins, we got a one-on-one special with Teresa Giudice and Joe Giudice after his deportation to Italy.  This pre-season episode is titled The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Special Event: Joe and Teresa Unlocked. 

Setting the stage

I was really hoping the whole family was going to reunite on camera, but Teresa is in the clubhouse with Andy Cohen for the event, while Joe is skyping in from Italy.  Teresa wore a red one-shoulder sweater and a scowl, while Joe wore a black v-neck, mustard-yellow sweater, and a cocky attitude.

His new normal

Joe said he’s living in his grandmother’s home while in Italy.  Joe says that he was supervised from the moment he left the ICE detention center until he got on the plane.  He also said that they wanted to handcuff him and he told them no.  Joe says if he wanted to cause trouble he would just “kick their butts and leave,” but he just wanted to get to Italy.

Joe says that his time in ICE detention was just a “waste of time,” as he was just sitting in there.  He also says he doesn’t understand why they were incarcerated, and that Teresa should have not had to go to prison.

What would Juicy Joe do?

In prison, Joe got his high school diploma, did six months of computer courses and learned about programming.  He says that once he got transferred to the ICE facility, he was locked in a small room with eight people for five months.  He admitted he was an idiot for not obtaining citizenship while he had the chance, and says he just “doesn’t know why” he never did it.

Andy says that during the upcoming season, Joe called Teresa from the ICE facility and blamed her for his time there.  He also confirmed that cameras will be there to record the reunion between the family members in Italy soon.

In closing…

From what I gathered during the special, Teresa and Joe have gone their separate ways.  He seems to know she was with other guys and doesn’t seem to care since he was gone for so long.  It also doesn’t seem like he thinks she was being unfaithful, which makes me think they broke up before he even went in.  Teresa says she “didn’t feel anything” when she saw him, and seems to hold a lot of resentment for losing time with her mother before she passed.

What exactly does the future hold for the RHONJ couple?  Hopefully co-parenting and some summering in Italy…
