Real Housewives of Orange County: Emily Simpson is having surgery
By Amanda Cline
The Real Housewives of Orange County star opened up about her upcoming surgery, and what led her to the decision to get it.
We’ve seen The Real Housewives of Orange County star struggle with her arthritis and weight since she joined the show last season, but it seems to have gotten worse since then. Emily Simpson has decided to get a hip replacement on October 28 in order to hopefully fix some of her issues.
In a recent episode of RHOC, Emily went to visit Tamra Judge and her husband Eddie at their gym, Cut Fitness. Eddie had Emily get on a scale that tells you your body weight, body fat percentage, and BMI (Body Mass Index). Eddie said that Emily’s weight technically put her at obese since it was above 30%. Emily admitted she hadn’t stepped on the scale in eight or nine months because she was avoiding knowing her weight.
Emily tweeted earlier this week that she can’t wait to “run, jump, workout, walk a catwalk and dance!” She’s been open about the trolls on social media being horrible about her weight just because she isn’t the typical size 0 Orange County housewife.
But now, it seems like her weight is really inhibiting her from enjoying life, and enjoying time with her children. Emily said her arthritis had gotten worse in recent times and she no cartilage left on her hip on her left side. It seems like Emily has been in pain for a long time and the surgery will be the answer to a healthier life!
Hopefully, Emily’s husband can tear himself away from his career in order to help his wife recover and help take care of the children.
The Real Housewives of Orange County is on Bravo at 9 PM every Tuesday.
