Real Housewives of Dallas: LeeAnne’s past trauma and Brandi’s past home
By Amanda Cline
The Real Housewives of Dallas dove deep into some of their past issues, from trauma to mobile homes, the ladies discussed it all.
The Real Housewives of Dallas has always discussed issues that some franchises shy away from, including suicide. In recent episodes, we’ve seen LeeAnne Locken use her past suicide attempts as a weapon in conversation. In contrast, Stephanie Hollman doesn’t use her past and her past issues with mental health issues as a weapon, but more as a way to help others.
The cast has been on a trip to Mexico for a few episodes, and the ladies are definitely outside their comfort zone. LeeAnne told Kary Brittingham that she did not want to have children because of her relationship with her mom, and past trauma she had suffered. She said that most people in her position commit suicide by the time they reach the age of 30, but she has only tried three times.
Trash talk
Kameron Westcott called Brandi Redmond “trash” and “trashy,” knowing that it would hurt her. Brandi has been open about her upbringing and growing up in a mobile home and not coming from money. Stephanie did not come from money either and again, has been open about her past. When Kameron went after Brandi for something as silly as the home she lived in as a child, it was a triggering comment for Stephanie.
Brandi said that as a kid, no one wanted to go to her house was because she lived in a mobile home. She says that her past made her feel ashamed but she has moved past that – until someone calls her trash. Her and Kameron talked through it and Brandi helper her realize why the label trashy hurt her, not just that it hurt her.
The last part of the trip found some of the ladies in a place where they listed off a few things they were thankful for, and things they were searching for. Stephanie said she was searching for happiness inside of herself, and Kary said she was thankful for her children’s health. Brandi said she wanted to be the best wife and mom she could be.
The rest of the ladies bonded and got closer to one another, while LeeAnne pushed everyone away. Kary calls LeeAnne guarded, which she totally is, but LeeAnne doesn’t accept that label. Will LeeAnne ever take her past and take control of it, instead of letting it control her?
The Real Housewives of Dallas is on Wednesdays at 9 PM ET on Bravo.
