Real Housewives of Orange County: Did Shane Simpson pass the California bar exam?

We’ve seen Shane Simpson, husband of The Real Housewives of Orange County star, Emily Simpson, studying for the bar exam on the show, but did he pass?

Unfortunately for her, Emily Simpson’s Real Housewives of Orange County storyline this season seems to be the drama between her and her husband, Shane.  So far we’ve seen nothing positive come from Shane.  He’s mostly been studying for the California state bar exam, and when he isn’t doing that, he’s being less than supportive.

Emily is being supportive

Emily threw Shane’s parents a birthday party on the first episode, and Shane didn’t even bother to show up.  He actually didn’t even bother to answer Emily’s calls, and when he did, he said he was being “harassed.”  The scene was filmed right around Valentine’s Day based on the other parties in the episode, which meant Shane probably took the exam at the end of February.

Bad news

On The State Bar of California website, you can search for active lawyers.  Emily shows up as an active lawyer since 2005, but Shane does not show up.  You can also search the names of those who passed the February 2019 exam, but Shane doesn’t show up there either. Of course, he could have also taken the bar more recently.

There is an exam in July, in which case his results would not be out yet.  It would be weird for Shane to be so secluded and studying five months before the exam.  He had been checked into a hotel for almost two weeks at that point in filming. At this point, all signs point to Shane failing the exam in February.  Word on the street is that he already re-took the exam in July.

And in other bad news

In order to distract Shane a bit, Emily decided to dance in a burlesque show in Las Vegas, and Shane could not have hated the idea any more.

Unfortunately, Emily seems all too aware of how her husband comes off on the show.  She’s admitted she has been reluctant to share more about their marriage because of the negative reaction from fans to his comments, and their marriage in general. Hopefully, these two have just hit a bumpy patch and they will move past it.  Hopefully, Shane passes the bar next time too.
