Below Deck Mediterranean has been teasing us all season about the return of Chef Ben, and now he’s back!  What sort of nonsense will he get into now?

Finally, on last week’s Below Deck Mediterranean, Chef Ben Robinson returned to the galley – and our televisions.  June heads home after like, 1.5 charters, and Anastasia Surmava is back to the third stew.  Captain Sandy Yawn convinces Colin Macy-O’toole to stay.

If you recall, Anastasia claimed the third stew position did not require brainpower, but alas, she says she is rusty at it.  Then she washed a dry clean only dress.

Ben has been busy as a private chef and a catering chef around the US.  “He will have your back, or stab you in it,” Hannah says.  Ben only has two hours to get acquainted with the boat and the galley before the next charter guests arrive, so Anastasia finds herself back there to help.

It went something like this:

Ben: Olives?

Anastasia: Here.

Ben: Beans?

Anastasia: Over here.

Ben: Curry powder?

Anastasia: In this drawer.

Ben: Rice maker?

Anastasia: Up there.

Sort of like a high-stakes game of hide and seek.  Then Ben haves her make some kind of pesto, and Anastasia definitely has an attitude about it.  If you recall (again) – Anastasia had no issue with keeping Travis in the galley all day and night to help her.

Ben is clearly frustrated by the kitchen situation. He had no time to prepare, and now the burners aren’t working.

The guests seem pleased with that food Ben puts out either way, until the risotto.  The burners have made risotto an impossible food. Unfortunately, Ben falls victim to the broken burner too. The guests say the risotto is cold…but she was definitely talking about herself instead of eating.

Then the tender gets returned by a stranger….What else could go wrong?

Below Deck Mediterranean is on Bravo Monday nights at 9 PM ET.
