The Real Housewives of Potomac was back last night with “Showdown at the Hoedown,” the episode we’ve been waiting for all season.

Ashley Darby and Michael Darby have been majorly involved in The Real Housewives of Potomac drama all season.

First things first: this episode was an hour and fifteen minutes long.  Bravo felt this drama was so necessary to include, we got an extra fifteen minutes of it.

Pre-hoedown

Candiace Dillard Bassett has a meltdown revolving around her mom, but she’s screaming at her husband in the streets.  Gizelle Bryant has the offer on her dilapidated home accepted. Karen rides a motorcycle. Monique Samuels shops for the baby.

On to the drama

The screen flashed with a classic:

TWO DAYS LATER

As well as a loud sci-fi movie noise before the scenes cut to all of the ladies getting the news.

Robyn seems to get the news first, from Gizelle, but they don’t actually speak to Ashley.

Ashley seems incredibly annoyed when Karen calls her to let her know the news on TMZ about Michael.  This sexual assault apparently happened at Monique’s rainbow party, where Michael grabbed the cameraman’s butt and gave him a “flirtatious look.”

One thing I think is interesting: we didn’t hear Michael’s audio when he said he wanted to you-know-what one of the RHOP husbands, and we also didn’t hear any of the audio when Michael allegedly assaulted the cameraman…Methinks production has that audio somewhere.

Gizelle Bryant says it’s at Ashley’s discretion to discuss the issue or not, and Ashley says she can’t comment on it.  She’s pretending as if nothing happened.

Ashley says the case got thrown out already, and though the other RHOP ladies have just found out – it sounds like Ashley and Michael have been dealing with it for a while.

Based on Monique’s outfit from her rainbow party in this Instagram post, the party was on or around September 2, 2019.

The TMZ article is from September 27, 2019.  The hoedown on tonight’s episode is probably from that next day, September 28, 2019, because Gizelle says that Katie Rost and Ashley were out together yesterday when the news hit.

This makes Ashley’s behavior even stranger to me.  She’s pretending like everything is FINE and PERFECTLY OKAY when it is clearly neither.

This hoedown has some hoes actually down

The last fifteen minutes of this extra long episode involved a bunch of grown women dressed like dolls in their finest cowgirl gear, avoiding the elephant in the room (on the farm?)

The girls do some farm activities, such as tug-of-war, which finds Gizelle on the ground.  Katie makes a nonsense toast about peace, love, and vortex.

After a lovely lunch of BBQ catering, Ashley and Karen suddenly go at it.  Ashley says Karen has a lot of skeletons in her closet, she “rivals the catacombs.”  Which is funny, but Ashley should have not barked up that tree.

“Karma is a b—- honey,” Karen says to Ashley.  “Clankity-clank.  That bar of soap, you might wanna help your husband,” replies Karen.

They show a flashback of when Ashley said similar things about Karen when she was having issues with the IRS. Not cute, ladies.

It went from a hoedown to these hoes are goin’ down

Once Ashley and Karen stop fighting, Monique and Candiace pick up where they left off.  Candiace says Monique is chastising her.

“I will still drag you, pregnant and all,” Monique says as she walks away.  Candiace will fight with anyone, at any time.  The common denominator is…Candiace.

There is no resolution for anyone at the hoedown, I guess we’ll have to wait until next week.

The Real Housewives of Potomac is on Sundays at 8 PM ET on Bravo.
