RHOC: Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley welcome first child, Skylar Gray

In case you forgot they existed, former RHOC cast member Gretchen Rossi and Slade Smiley just had their first child together, baby girl Skylar Gray.

Since I wiped the existence of these two from my memory, Gretchen Christine Rossi was on RHOC for four seasons, seasons four through eight.

Skylar Gray was born on Wednesday, July 10, 2019, and mom and baby are doing well.  Her Instagram is already up and running, thanks to Gretchen.

A trip down memory lane

Slade Smiley is just a generally icky guy.  If you remember, he was initially on RHOC seasons one and two while dating Jo De La Rosa.

They broke up, but Slade was determined to stay in the spotlight!

Gretchen has a line of handbags and accessories, Gretchen Christine, where you can still (I think) purchase lovely vegan dome satchel bags for $179.

Skylar’s middle name, Gray, is a family name from Slade’s son from another marriage.  Grayson has been battling brain cancer for more than ten years.  Slade also has another son, Gavin.

Gretchen and Slade are famous for their over-the-top, well, everything.  They got engaged on season eight of RHOC with Gretchen singing Slade a love song and asking him to marry her. 

If you ask anyone on Bravo, or anyone that has ever watched Bravo, everything about these two is done for the cameras.  This is probably why they still aren’t married five years later.

Gretchen had a very low key and casual baby shower, as you can see above. Gretchen also announced she had a “cervix of steel” that would best benefit from a c-section.

Anyway, congrats to the happy couple, and welcome to the world, Skylar!
