The Real Housewives of Potomac cast is wrapping up their trip to New Orleans by fighting it out and eating some jambalaya.

Last week’s Real Housewives of Potomac episode ended with Ashley Darby and Candiace Dillard Bassett arguing about Ashley trying to get pregnant.

I have no idea why this is any concern to Candiace, but apparently it is.  It’s interesting that Candiace is asking her mom to back off and let her live her own life, when she’s doing the same thing to some of her cast mates.  Let Ashley live, Candiace. Sheesh!

Anyway, half of the Real Housewives of Potomac are off to see some alligators, and the Mayor apparently.  Ashley and Katie Rost go off to see a psychic.

The psychic says not to put too much pressure on the pregnancy and that a child is supposed to be a culmination of the parents, not necessarily glue for the parents.  I’m forever skeptical of a psychic, but that was an interesting thing to say.

Ashley just had her baby shower this week and most of the cast attended.  Not surprisingly, Candiace did not.

While Robyn and Monique are on the boat hanging out with the alligators, the guide tells them how old the gators are.  Karen Huger says they are the same age as Michael.

Gizelle is doing a great job on this trip.  I enjoy seeing her with her family, and all of the people from her past.  She even did work with the NAACP at one point!

She heads to the historic restaurant, Dooky Chase, and sits down with her father, and even Leah Chase.

"Dooky Chase’s Restaurant opened its doors for business in 1941. What was initially a sandwich shop and lottery ticket outlet in 1939 blossomed into a thriving bar and later a respected family restaurant in Treme. Founded by Emily and Dooky Chase, Sr., Dooky Chase’s Restaurant soon became the meeting place for music and entertainment, civil rights, and culture in New Orleans."

Leah Chase was 95 at the time of filming, and just passed away on June 1, 2019.  Leah was known at the actual “Queen of CreoleCuisine, advocating both African-American art and Creole cooking,” according to wikipedia.

After that, the Real Housewives of Potomac ladies are off to celebrate Gizelle’s father’s 80th birthday.

They dress up in all white, get a band and go off to eat some jambalaya!  Then all the happiness dissolves because Candiace wants to get in everyones business.

Gizelle asks Candiace to sing happy birthday, and I can’t tell if she does it because she’s trying to be nice and no one else can sing, or if she asked her its sort of hilarious to watch.  I think it’s a bit of both.

The RHOP cast goes on a steamboat, just in time for Gizelle and Karen to fight it out.  After that, they head to Cafe du Monde to eat beignets while Karen yells at them.  Mostly Gizelle, but Karen is just sort of shouting in her general direction.

What a lovely way to end the trip.
