5 Things to know about RHONY newcomer Barbara Kavovit’s new book, Heels of Steel
By Amanda Cline
RHONY newcomer Barbara Kavovit wears many hats, hard hats included, and has her first novel coming out soon. Heels of Steel: A Novel About The Queen of New York Construction hits shelves June 25th, 2019.
1. Her new book, Heels of Steel: A Novel About The Queen of New York Construction, is a story about a female developer who is building the tallest skyscraper in New York City. A perfect story for this RHONY woman in charge!
2. In real life, Barbara is the CEO and founder of Evergreen Construction, a business she founded in New York City in 2015. Evergreen Construction has a pretty impressive history themselves.
Recently, they’ve worked on Kiping’s corporate offices in Jersey City, two of Hyatt’s Exhale Spas in NYC, and Globant Technology’s new 13,000 square foot office on Park Avenue.
3. This is not Barbara’s first book! Prior to this fiction novel, she has two other non-fiction books: Invest in Your Nest : Add Style, Comfort, and Value to Your Home and Room for Improvement : Change Your Home! Enhance Your Life! with Tools, Tips, and Inspiration from Barbara K!
She also has a company called DIYVA BY BARBARA K, which specializes in tool kits for women. They even have a leopard print bag!
4. Barbara and fellow RHONY cast member Luann de Lesseps met on a playground over 14 years ago!
5. Barbara started her first business right after college. She called the home improvement business Stand-Ins, and eventually it evolved into Anchor Construction. She told Crain’s New York Business, “I got myself a tool belt, a tape measure and a great pair of blue jeans. People assumed I knew what I was talking about.”
We get to see Barbara and the RHONY ladies discuss home decor and architecture mid-fight, but Barbara really knows her stuff. Hopefully Dorinda and Barbara can come to an agreement on re-doing her apartment so we can see the results!
Heels of Steel is available for pre-order now through Amazon, with a release date of June 25, 2019. Will you be reading this one? Let us know what you think.
