Gretchen Rossi defends why she and Slade are not married

Gretchen Rossi defends why she and Slade Smiley have yet to get married after her proposal several years ago on RHOC.

Gretchen Rossi kept pushing off an engagement from Slade Smiley while filming The Real Housewives of Orange County. Her biggest argument was his debt, as she would be taking on his debt if they got married. Slade was dealing with child support debt and she didn’t want to get married until he had handled that.

However, during Gretchen’s final season of The Real Housewives of Orange County, she decided to propose to Slade. She did so in a lavish proposal that ended with a party with her friends and family. But none of her co-stars attended and she was accused of only doing it for the airtime. Plus, her co-stars claimed there was no emotion in her proposal.

It has been years since Gretchen Rossi left the show and proposed to Slade. The two have yet to get married and fans want to know why. Was everything really just for airtime? On Twitter, Rossi decided to address their relationship.

"So funny how quickly you guys can’t change your sentiments. We have been together for 10yrs and hate to break it to you but a marriage license does not make it real or not, the love and commitment to each other does. So no, it was not fake or staged or any of that crap you are spinning. We are very much in love and as a matter of fact, have outlasted most of the other housewife marriages."

It sounds like Gretchen Rossi has no problem waiting for the right time to get married. She and Slade have started IVF in hopes of getting a baby. Fans have asked Bravo to bring her back to The Real Housewives of Orange County, as the two newcomers could use a blast from the past. But Gretchen may not be interested in doing the show anymore.
