Monique Samuels speaks out about Karen Huger’s parents, as Karen revealed that her parents had passed away before the RHOP reunion.
Monique Samuels seems to have been a huge cheerleader for Karen Huger this season, as she was the only one who appeared to defend her Real Housewives of Potomac co-star. Monique, who was accused of driving under the influence this season, understood where Karen was coming from in terms of her financial troubles. It would be up to Karen to share whatever she wanted and Samuels hinted several times that her co-stars were crossing the line.
During the reunion special, Karen revealed that her parents had passed away. Her mother had passed away seven months prior to filming The Real Housewives of New York reunion special, while her father had passed away just a week or so prior to filming the reunion. Huger was clearly in no position to talk about her parents, who had been a huge source of worry for her. Monique Samuels tweeted that she found Karen to be incredibly strong for the way she handled everything.
While Karen Huger had indeed mentioned that her parents were sick, not many of her co-stars asked her about how they were doing. Karen was tough to speak to this season, as she appeared to be very defensive over her husband’s financial troubles.
The season began with Ray’s IRS issue and fans quickly assumed that Karen also had financial trouble with the IRS. But she claimed that wasn’t the case. Monique Samuels has been a huge pillar of support for her. But it does seem rude that not many of her co-stars reached out to Huger, asking how she was doing or how her parents were coping.
What do you think of Monique Samuels’ tweet, where she clearly backs up Karen?
