Luann was shocked at her own behavior, as she wasn’t planning on hitting an officer, facing arrest, and even spending a night in jail. As soon as she could, she entered treatment for alcohol issues and self-medicating. On The Real Housewives of New York, Luann explained that she clearly had a problem and she needed to get some help to deal with it. But she also revealed that she only spent one night in jail.

When she was telling Dorinda Medley about her night in jail, Luann revealed that she felt she was stuck in the system because she was locked up for one night. She also revealed that she was thrown a bologna sandwich from the officers, something she felt was completely disgusting to eat. It was clear that she felt completely mistreated after she had lashed out at an officer. However, The Real Housewives of New York viewers didn’t feel sorry for her. It was hard for people to feel bad for her for spending one night in prison and comparing herself for being wronged by the system.

On Twitter, Luann de Lesseps’ followers explained that they didn’t feel sorry for her because she spent the night in jail. When they learned what she had been doing, few people felt bad for her. As they pointed out, she spent one night in the local jail – she didn’t go to the state penitentiary.
