Monique Samuels speaks out about Karen Huger’s sketchy event

Monique Samuels attended Karen Huger’s charity dinner and she’s setting the record straight about the donations to Karen’s business.

Monique Samuels was one of the Real Housewives of Potomac co-stars who attended Karen Huger’s gala, an event she started a few years ago in honor of her mother-in-law. She was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and she wanted to do something for those who have family members struggling with the disease. During the event, she asked her co-stars to donate money to the Alzheimer’s charity but she wanted them to write the personal checks to her business. She claimed the money would go to the association, but that she would use the donations as a tax write-off for herself.

At the time, her Real Housewives of Potomac co-stars were puzzled by her strategy, as they were curious about where the money was going. Given how Karen Huger’s husband has some tax issues and some IRS problems, viewers and her co-stars were wondering if this was how she was getting into trouble. But Karen shut it down quickly, making viewers even more confused. It seemed like she didn’t want to explain her situation or her plans at all.

On Twitter, Monique Samuels was quick to come to Karen Huger’s defense, revealing that she knew how things worked when Karen decided to get the checks done in her new. And Monique also reveals that the money they donated did go to the Alzheimer’s Associations at the end of the night.
