Luann de Lesseps put Thomas D’Agostino over her children

Luann de Lesseps now reveals that her children never really accepted Thomas D’Agostino but she chose to marry him anyway, putting her own needs first.

Luann de Lesseps seemed completely head over heels in love with Thomas D’Agostino when she met him. Even though they had only been dating for a few months, Luann was talking about marriage. There was a large handful of red flags, but she chose to ignore them all. It didn’t matter to her that she was spending all of her time with him, and it didn’t matter that he has once dated and slept with some of her girlfriends.

However, Luann should have perked up when she learned about her kids’ opinions. On The Real Housewives of New York, Luann de Lesseps revealed that her children were happy for her and showed off some happy wedding photos. However, it sounds like they were a bit neglected after the wedding, as Luann didn’t take the time to be there for her kids. During Wednesday’s episode of the show, she admitted that she had been too involved with Thomas and she now had time for her kids again.

In her Bravo blog, Luann de Lesseps opened up about the red flags that her daughter Victoria had picked up on. As she explained, he wasn’t very caring.

"They never really bonded with Tom, and as Victoria said, “He doesn’t know how to #hug.” I’m glad I was able to talk to Victoria about what happened and how I have #noregrets. I went in quickly, and I got out quickly, and Victoria is absolutely right — there was no lasting damage. Tom and I are still friendly, and I accept him for who he is."

It seems to be completely wrong of Luann to neglect her children during her marriage. Ideally, a supportive husband would understand that she has adult children and she would want to remain engaged in their lives. While D’Agostino may not have said anything to keep her away from her kids, Luann herself should have been much more diligent in staying in touch with her kids. Perhaps Luann needs to go to Puerto Rico with Bethenny Frankel to get a reality check as she settles back into her normal life.
