Jax Taylor received a job offer on this season of Vanderpump Rules and he told Brittany Cartwright that he seriously contemplated taking the job. The job was supposedly a social media job for a hockey team, where he could tweet about hockey all day long. The job required him to move away from Los Angeles and relocate to Florida. He seriously contemplated it but faced criticism because he wanted to take the job without speaking to Brittany about it.

Vanderpump Rules viewers were left without an answer. Did he take the job or not? The season ended with Jax and Brittany being broken up, but it sounds like he could have seriously contemplated taking the job. As it turns out, one major life event changed his path completely.

It sounds like Jax Taylor seriously contemplated going to Florida and taking the job, even though it would mean starting over. On Vanderpump Rules, Jax was fired from his job so he had plenty of time to pack up his place and move away.

"“The only thing that stopped me from doing it was the timing. I just lost my father, and the reason I was going to Florida, the main reason, obviously I love the hockey, and I got the opportunity, but the main reason was to be closer to my father, and once he passed away, I just didn’t want anything to do with Florida.”"

Even though hockey was a passion of his, it sounds like the death is his father was enough for him to stay close to Brittany and close to his friends. His father, who would be near his new job, passed away from cancer before Taylor had the chance to relocate.
