Luann de Lesseps brings up Sonja Morgan’s cheating to defend her

Luann de Lesseps decided to talk about Sonja Morgan’s cheating, something Dorinda Medley brought up, as a way of defending why she should be more understood.

Luann de Lesseps was present when Dorinda Medley and Sonja Morgan got into a heated fight at her brunch over Sonja’s comments that her divorce was like a death for her. Dorinda, who has lost a husband herself to illness, wasn’t happy about Sonja’s divorce being compared to her losing her husband suddenly. Medley was furious and she brought up the fact that Sonja supposedly cheated on her husband during their marriage.

This was something that hasn’t been discussed on The Real Housewives of New York before. It seems like de Lesseps may know something about Sonja’s marriage because she’s not defending Sonja’s supposed cheating. But she’s also not denying it either. In her new Bravo blog, Luann de Lesseps explains that Sonja has every right to have the type of marriage she wants.

She also points out that she doesn’t understand why Dorinda and the other ladies are ganging up on her. If Morgan liked her marriage the way it was, then she should have a right to feel that way.

"On a more serious note, why is everyone ganging up on Sonja? She’s entitled to mourn for her marriage any way she chooses. Is it a buzzkill sometimes? Yes. As her friend, I listen and try to steer the conversation to happier topics. Should Ramona have defended Sonja when Dorinda alleged that Sonja cheated on her ex? Again, yes."

As for Dorinda Medley, she was upset with the way things unfolded because Sonja talked about her divorce like her husband was dead. Medley, who has lost her husband to illness, wasn’t happy that Sonja compared a divorce – which is a conscious choice – to a death.
