The opening episode for The Real Housewives of New York was a little slow this year. It was almost like a recap of last year’s season. I think this episode went a bit slow for me but you have to know it is going to kick in soon.

The Real Housewives of New York returning last week to Bravo and the first episode summarized last season. LuAnn de Lesseps seemed pretty focused and centered, but we know that is going to change. I wonder what made her flip out other than thinking about her loser ex-husband Tom? I was cheering her on last night even though what is to come is not going to be good for her. I did like her Diana Ross costume at the party and I think Carol is just a bit TOO politically correct to criticize LuAnn’s costume.

Bethenny is back too. Kudos to her for helping the hurricane victims. That was a very generous thing to do. But, that doesn’t change my mind that she is still a know it all and a do it her way or no way. I find her very abrasive and always have seen her in that light. Plus, she has started right from the beginning to bicker endlessly with Ramona. They need to, as they say, “move on.” Either be friends or not. I am personally tired of the same old snide remarks and screaming from those two. I initially thought Bethenny’s costume was of some generic blonde street walker. It didn’t look like any Barbie I have ever seen. I wasn’t impressed with her get up at all.

Carole Raziwill – Good old Carol. She and Adam are not dating but are still having sex. Ok – TMI for me. She becomes more political and outspoken with every season. She could have just flown away like her Amelia Earhart costume and it would have been fine with me. She contributed nothing to the opening episode.

Ramona Singer has returned with her googly eyes, her loud judgmental voice and her ever roaming need to get another man in her bed. Obviously, the man issue hasn’t happened yet. She is still hell-bent as Bethenny to cause discord between the two of them. Her Britney Spears outfit had her looking like a sausage being squeezed into their casings along with her ever-growing boobs.

Tinsley Mortimer is no longer dating her boyfriend (his name I just lost). What I really want to know is how much her bill was for living in a hotel for the past year? Is she just too lazy to continue to look for an apartment? I just don’t get it with this gal. Her Madonna wannabe costume was not impressive either. But then again, I have not found Tinsley very impressive either – at least, not so far.

Sonja Morgan – Good old Sonja. She showed up with probably the only male in her life who will ever stand by her, Rocco! Why he sticks with her is either love or stupidity. Sonja has no manners, but then we all knew that a long time ago. She arrives at a party and ignores the hostess for one hour so she can talk to Rocco without interruption? I see it as Sonja trying to stir the pot immediately. Lucille Ball should be rolling in her grave and being insulted that Sonja dared to dress as Lucy.

And finally, my personal favorite – Dorinda!

Like her or not, she is a fun drunk and she is a no-holding-back with anything she feels. She tells it like it is, sometimes a bit too loud but she has the guts to do it. Her costume was very good. Lala GaGa she isn’t, but she did look pretty good in those bubbles! She even managed to have a conversation with her decorations during the party. And, I do hope John’s appearances will be minimal as they were the past season. No need to see greasy John any more than I have to. Dorinda did throw a good Halloween party…and she did it NICE!
