Two different franchises have discussed Adderall now, and it is a scary thing.
If you haven’t caught part two of The Real Housewives of Orange County, you may not understand where I am going with this. Remember when Vicki Gunvalson freaked out in Iceland? Fans all thought she was sick, but as it turns out, she was given medication by two separate housewives.
Kelly Dodd gave Vicki Gunvalson Adderall, which she admitted to on the actual RHOC reunion. While it wasn’t completely shocking given the response Gunvalson had and her trip to the ER, the lack of shock from the other housewives was disturbing. Peggy Sulahian had given Gunvalson Nyquil, which was way more appropriate given the situation and the fact that it is accessible over the counter.
Now, it may not be overly shocking, but the connection to another franchise has me wondering. The Real Housewives of Dallas was filmed quite some time ago, but the reunion was done in real time.
Adderall is a prescription medication often used to treat ADHD. It closely resembles the chemical structure of MDMA (ecstasy) and methamphetamine and is said to help those with ADHD with impulse control and focus. It’s very commonly abused and that’s why the recent mentions of Adderall are so concerning.
D’Andra Simmons recently spoke out about some behind the scenes info. In fact, it piqued my interest enough to draw a connection to RHOC.
According to Reality Tea, D’Andra Simmons commented she believes there is Adderall being passed around. That is a heavy accusation, though not surprising. Simmons also revealed that she was once heavier, and one of the cast members threatened to make that her storyline.
Clearly, it wasn’t LeeAnne Locken as the two are incredibly close. Given Simmons’ relationship with Kameron Westcott, it is unlikely she was teasing her friend. So, that leads to speculation that it was either Stephanie Hollman, Cary Deuber, or Brandi Redmond. If I had to guess, I would guess the latter.

So why Adderall? Whatever the reason is, I found it interesting two franchises mentioned it. Could there be a connection, or is it becoming so popular among middle and upper-class housewives that it’s just a coincidence it was mentioned on or by stars from two different shows?
