In a recent radio interview, Kandi Burruss talked about suing Phaedra Parks for the fallout of the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion show.
We’re all still talking about the Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion show. When Phaedra Parks was revealed as the one to have spread that lie that Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker planed to drug and rape Porsha Williams, it became an instant contender for the hall of high drama fame.
Amidst rumors that Parks has been fired from the show for her behavior and accusations that Bravo framed her, Burruss’ own experience has been slightly lost in the shuffle. But in an interview with V-103’s “Ryan Cameron Morning Show with Wanda Smith,” she had a chance to speak her mind.
Mostly, she took the time to explain how she felt like the lie was “a whole new low.” She knew she and the other women “weren’t cool anymore” but the drama felt like Phaedra and Porsha were “just trying to say whatever to take me down.”
Moreover, she felt like the women orchestrated the attack, saying:
"Just to be clear for everybody, the day that Porsha and I had the sit-down and were cussing each other out on the patio, we knew we were gonna have that sit-down. So she knew it was gonna be a bad conversation — so basically, y’all [Porsha and Phaedra] got together the day before you was [sic] gonna have to face me and she told you that I tried to drug you so that you could say this on national TV.She told you that so you would try to come at me with this fake info on camera."
Burruss also expanded on whether she would be suing Williams or Parks for defamation:
"Yeah, I have thought about it. I have to talk to my attorneys and see how they feel I should handle the situation. They told me I should sue Porsha at first [but] when it came out at the reunion that Porsha got the information from Phaedra, I said let’s hold up until they see the whole thing and I’ll get their opinion on how I should handle it. Another thing, lawsuits are stressful. I’m already dealing with this lawsuit with Johnny [a former employee of Burruss’ whom Parks helped to secure legal counseling]."
It all sounds like none of this will be resolved any time soon. As Burruss explains elsewhere in the interview, she has her business to keep in mind, too. In addition to the general stigma that may linger from the accusations, Burruss runs a boutique sex toy, party and consultant company called Bedroom Kandi that could be especially damaged by the assault association.
