Here’s what was said in the dramatic Carole Radziwill charity chat from yesterday’s lawsuit

Wednesday night’s episode of RHONY aired the charity event chat a New York businesswoman tried to have blocked — and it was scandalous as promised.

Yesterday, various outlets, including yours truly, reported that a New York judge declined to block the airing of last night’s Real Housewives of New York. The case in question involved two conversations, between Carole Radziwill and businesswoman Barbara “Barbara K” Kavovit, that the Kavovit claimed were private and recorded without her consent.

New York state law does not require both parties to consent to recording. For that reason and whichever others we may never know, Judge Gerald Lebovits let the episode air, which it did last night. As he put it, “how could I stop the millions of adoring fans from learning about this?”

Respect to him.

And so the dramatic conversation — which it had been previously leaked was about Luann D’Agostino (née de Lesseps) and her husband (then fiancé) Tom D’Agostino — was revealed.

It is, to say the least, juicy.

Filmed at a RHONY charity event, Kavovit and Radziwill had a conversation — a “private chat” — about Luann and Tom. Here’s what was said:

"Barbara: And then I’m going to Luann’s wedding.Carole: Are you excited?B: Honestly, no.C: Is she excited?B: Honestly, I think she has something to prove.C: To prove what?B: That she’d rather go through with it and get divorced than call it off.C: Wow! But what about him? There’s so many rumors that he hangs at the Regency still hooks up with women.B: That’s pathetic.C: Does she know that?B: I told her.C: She could be making the biggest mistake of her life."

Watch it for yourself in the video below.

One can imagine why Kavovit didn’t want her gossip to become common knowledge among the rest of RHONY-adjacent society. The exchange reportedly spurred Luann to text Kavovit that if she had known she said these things, she wouldn’t have invited Kavovit to her and Tom’s wedding. Ice cold.

Let this be a lesson to all of Real Housewives‘ razor: Among competing hypotheses as to whether a Real Housewife is wearing a live mic, the simple assumption that’s she’s recording should be selected.
