The RHOD reunion was back last night with part two, and LeeAnne was in the hot seat for most of the segment. Check out what she had to say to defend herself.
The Real Housewives of Dallas reunion part two began with a thoughtful comment from LeeAnne Locken, “Let the hanging begin.” LeeAnne’s use of racist comments was the biggest topic of the second part of the reunion. Check out some of the highlights of the roast of LeeAnne during the RHOD reunion.
LeeAnne’s Distasteful Comments About Kary
LeeAnne and Kary Brittingham butted heads from the very beginning of this season of RHOD. Kary thought that LeeAnne was negative, bossy, and a bully. She mentioned incidents outside of the show, especially on social media and also coming from a LeeAnne’s wedding planner Steve Kemble (more on HIM later!).
Kary had apparently responded by telling Steve Kemble to go do something inappropriate to LeeAnne. LeeAnne said this was a homophobic statement to Steve, who is gay. Andy, who is also gay, responded that he didn’t find it to be homophobic.
Phrases that LeeAnne used to describe Kary throughout the season included: “Chirpy Mexican,” “Find your own Mexican words,” “Come on Mexican, I thought you were all Mexican and strong,” “I can defend myself because I’m from Mexico,” “She wants to prove how tough she is because she’s from Mexico,” and “I’m so great because I’m from Mexico.” Thank you production for the flashbacks.
Finally, Kary stood up for herself at the reunion
When Kary confronted LeeAnne shortly after learning about her comments at Brandi Redmond’s party. LeeAnne’s defense was that she had grown up with a Mexican family, had slept with many Mexicans, and has sat in Julio Iglesias’ lap.
After showing this montage of LeeAnne’s excuses, Brandi got up from the couch, retrieved a metal folding chair from off stage, and told LeeAnne to sit in the chair so that she could face all of them while they talked to her. LeeAnne refused to take the metal seat. Brandi then gave LeeAnne a talking to, stating that her words were disgusting, she was disappointed, didn’t want to be associated, was ashamed, it wasn’t ok, and to talk like that over and over again was racism.
LeeAnne said she doesn’t have a racist bone in her body. She believes in inclusion, and that she didn’t think that calling someone by their nationality was racism. She said she didn’t use her words well, wasn’t putting her words together well, and that it was a mistake. Andy pointed out that it was a “series of mistakes.”

Andy called out LeeAnne’s lies about production
The lies continued until Andy stepped in to refute some of LeeAnne’s claims. Check out what he had to say about the production side of things.
When Andy asked Kary how she felt watching these scenes on the show, she broke down, saying she couldn’t even look at LeeAnne. She feels that LeeAnne never apologized, and LeeAnne said that Bravo production told her she wasn’t allowed to reach out to Kary. Andy said that’s was not true, you can watch the clip on BravoTV.com. An email was sent out two days prior, but Bravo did not step in until then.
Andy said that they had filmed the confessional interviews after wrapping up filming for the season and that LeeAnne made more of these comments during those interviews. She said she didn’t know what was going to air, but Andy said that was also not true, nor were her confessional interview comments said in the heat of the moment, and that producers were shocked.
LeeAnne’s fellow castmates expressed disappointment that LeeAnne never showed remorse about her behavior. Andy asked each of the ladies if they felt LeeAnne was racist, and they all said that they do, with the exception of Kameron Westcott. Kameron said LeeAnne used “racial words” and “racial comments” but that she wasn’t going to stereotype her as a racist. LeeAnne said that she was ignorant and didn’t understand the power of her words.
The power of words
One viewer tweeted at Andy that she was disappointed that Stephanie Hollman had not called LeeAnne out on her words at the time. Stephanie agreed that she’d been too chicken to do so because of the state that LeeAnne was in at the moment and was disappointed in herself for that.
Kameron defended LeeAnne by saying that she is “human still, and humans make really bad, bad mistakes.” She was confident that LeeAnne would learn from this mistake. LeeAnne said that it was a mistake, she was ignorant, had educated herself, and that she would do better in the future. Even LeeAnne’s apologies seem belligerent and very in-your-face…

Was There a Cover Up?
It appears these comments were not new for LeeAnne, just new for us as viewers.
Andy dropped a bomb at the end of the reunion. He said, “There’s something else that’s happening here, which is that you all thought that this was never going to air.”
It turns out that all of the RHOD housewives thought that none of the scenes containing LeeAnne’s racist comments were ever going to air. Since LeeAnne has brought a lot to the show, the ladies felt that production had protected LeeAnne in the past, and never thought the damning footage would see the light of day.
Kary was shocked and asked if they would have told her this was going on if it had never aired. Kameron claimed that she was going to tell Kary no matter what, but Brandi and Stephanie said that production had told Kameron that they were going to air these scenes right before Kameron talked to Kary. Interesting to think that there might be a lot more of these comments on the production room floor somewhere…
More on Steve Kemble
Over the weekend, LeeAnne’s wedding planner, Steve Kemble, posted a video on Twitter. It was a video that Brandi Redmond had posted 3 years ago, quickly took down, and apologized for at the time. In it, she refers to her eyes as being squinty and speaks with an accent.
Steve reposted it, saying that if LeeAnne was going to be called racist, Brandi should be, too. Brandi issued an apology on Twitter once again.
A video resurfaced of me from three years ago which at the time I had posted and quickly deleted and then immediately apologized for my insensitivity . I would like to once again sincerely apologize for my offensive actions.

Immediately after the RHOD Reunion last night, Andy had Stephanie on Watch What Happens Live as a guest. The question of this video came up, and Stephanie said, “Brandi isn’t racist; her video was a horrible mistake and she’s very embarrassed about it.”
Stephanie went on to say, “I think a lot of deflection is going on. LeeAnne’s words were said with hate towards Kary. Brandi’s weren’t hate-driven.” You can watch the clip on BravoTV.com.
Is this drama over for LeeAnne and The Real Housewives of Dallas, or is it just beginning? If LeeAnne wasn’t tried in a court of law, she’s certainly being roasted in the court of public opinions….
The Real Housewives of Dallas will hopefully be back later this year…
