The Southern Charm star’s mother, Allison Calhoun Dennis, passed away on Wednesday after battling an extended illness. She was only 59 years old.
Last night, in the hours before Southern Charm aired, it was reported that Kathryn Dennis had gotten into an automobile accident with her two children in the car just before 5:00 PM. Her car hit three trees and two light poles before coming to a stop. Kathryn said her children distracted her in the back seat, but everyone was okay.
Unfortunately, her mother passed away earlier yesterday before the accident. Allison Calhoun Dennis was only 59 years old and passed away after battling ovarian cancer for an extended period of time.
An obituary posted on the Dial-Murray Funeral Home website says that funeral arrangements are incomplete at this time.
Kathryn has been quoted as saying her mom was her best friend, and that she was a great help with her two children, St. Julien, and Kensie. Allison lived with Kathryn while she was sick, and Kathryn took care of her. After losing Kathryn’s grandmother a few years back, the two became especially close.
In last night’s car wreck, it was reported that everyone was okay. Kathryn is still currently battling her ex, Thomas Ravenel, in court for the custody of the two children. On last night’s episode, she was being harassed by Thomas’ ex-girlfriend, Ashley Jacobs. Thomas is certainly going to try and use the accident against her, even if it was no fault of her own. Allison even testified in court recently again Thomas.
This has definitely been a tough year for Kathryn and losing her mom is tragic at any age, but especially while dealing with such a traumatic legal battle.
Rest in peace, Allison.
Southern Charm will be back next Wednesday at 8 PM ET on Bravo.
